NATURE
The Southern Uplands of Scotland are not the highest, but they are very beautiful, wonderfully empty and you can go where you like (Right to Roam Legislation).
The South facing coast has golden beaches, tidal island and bird rich mud flats ( Caerlaverock and Mersehead). Inland there are many rivers, lochs and gorges which run through farm land into hills of black forest, moorland and deer.
Our land encourages and supports a diverse range of plant, animal and bird species.
Behind us is Queensberry hill (697m), the Southern Upland Way passes nearby and the Forest of Ae is full of
interest.
The night skies here are especially dark and good for star-gazing.
